Michigan has the Assets. Help Shape a More Competitive Life Sciences Future.

State Advocacy,

Michigan has the ingredients to lead in life sciences: outstanding research universities and health systems, scientific talent, innovative entrepreneurs, and deep manufacturing expertise. These strengths support the journey from discovery to commercial production.

Yet Michigan has not consistently translated those advantages into success in attracting and retaining life sciences companies. Other regions too often capture investments, expansions, and jobs that Michigan could secure. Closing that gap requires understanding what companies need to start, stay, and grow here.

MichBio is seeking your input through the Michigan Life Sciences Competitiveness Survey. We welcome perspectives from companies, researchers, manufacturers, investors, healthcare organizations, service providers, and economic development partners statewide.

Where does Michigan excel? What barriers limit growth or make other locations more attractive? Which improvements in workforce development, capital access, commercialization, infrastructure, or state policy would make the greatest difference?

Your experience can help shape actionable priorities. Survey findings will inform MichBio’s advocacy and policy recommendations for Michigan’s next Governor and Legislature. Responses are confidential and will be reported only in aggregate.

Michigan’s assets provide a strong foundation. Our competitiveness depends on how effectively we build on it.

Take the Michigan Life Sciences Competitiveness Survey and help Michigan attract investment, retain growing companies, and create lasting opportunity.
