Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs)
Share |
Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) are the first of the new payment paradigms implemented under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) law. ACOs include a variety of provider enterprises responsible for the quality, costs and overall care of Medicare patients. MichBio, working with its national bio-industry partners, tracks evolving federal policies and regulations to ensure patient care safeguards for the ACO program. We want to be certain that early adopters of advances in medical technologies are not penalized because of the way adjustments to spending targets, payment incentives and quality scores are structured.
