In June 2017, the environmental services divisions of Valicor Inc., as well as the Valicor brand name, were spun off from Valicor Inc. and purchased by Wind Point Partners. The Dexter, Michigan-based portions of Valicor Inc., which were not sold, have continued operating and will now operate as Trucent.

Now known as Trucent Inc., the company has retained the management team that was responsible for Valicor prior to the spin off, with Tom Czartoski, founder of Valicor, continuing as Trucent’s CEO and chairman of the board. The divestiture of the environmental services division represents the sale of one of the company’s six business units. Trucent’s five remaining business units continue to  operate out of its historical headquarters in Dexter, Michigan.

Since the June 2017 transaction, Trucent has announced aggressive expansion plans, extending its already broad U.S. services to include three additional locations covering Mexico, Canada, and the Pacific Coast. The management team has committed $9.0 million to such investments, evidencing a commitment to fortify and expand Trucent’s industry-leading fluid separation and purification technology services, which specialize in aqueous protein concentrates, industrial fluids, oleochemical production, nutraceutical lipids and dry mill corn ethanol production.

According to Czartoski, “We are extremely pleased to announce our new brand name. Our new brand and identity will allow us to focus on bringing innovations to the market, with the same great team of people that has long served our customers’ fluid separation and renewables needs. Trucent will continue to represent what Valicor has always been known for: industry leadership, innovation and being challenge-driven and customer-obsessed.”

While the divestiture of the environmental services divisions enables Trucent to focus on its core businesses, Trucent will remain a strategic partner with the spun-off portions of Valicor working together to bring complementary services and a holistic solution to customers.
