Learn about the findings and implications for a digitally based assessment that measures how students use and evaluate technology in real-life situations to solve problems. Free, ample parking and continental breakfast available!


Special welcome by Brian Whiston, Michigan Superintendent of Public Instruction

Experts and speakers will include:

  • Peggy Carr, Acting Commissioner, National Center for Education Statistics
  • Terry Mazany, President and CEO, Chicago Community Trust and Chairman, National Assessment Governing Board
  • Tonya Matthews, President and CEO, Michigan Science Center
  • Honorable Gary Peters, United States Senator representing Michigan (virtual)
  • Scot Osterweil, Creative Director of the Education Arcade, Massachusetts Institute of Technology
  • Cary Sneider, National Expert in Technology Instruction & Associate Professor, Portland State University

Plus, there will be two panels: a workforce expert panel including leaders in IT, automotive, healthcare, construction, and creative-design fields, and a panel composed of students who will describe their reactions to taking the Nation's Report Card: Technology and Engineering Literacy.
