The Dow Chemical Company made an announcement last month regarding a reduction in their workforce due to the Dow Chemical/Dow Corning merger. It is anticipated that 700 professionals will be separated as part of the company restructuring.
The Michigan Economic Development Corporation has started a statewide effort to re-employ and retain these dedicated professionals in Michigan. This is a great opportunity for your company to access exceptional and experienced talent.
One of these efforts include an exclusive Dow resume portal. There is no cost to for companies to access the resume Portal, but the number of user licenses available is limited. To manage the number of companies accessing the resume portal we have established some employer qualifications:
1) A company must receive a portal invitation directly, not shared by a third party, or be qualified by Midland Tomorrow staff (contact info provided later in this communication)
2) Company must be hiring for full time regular positions at Michigan locations (only Michigan career opportunities will be allowed to be populated in the system)
3) Staffing companies and third party recruiters will be granted access at a later time as direct hiring companies are given priority access.
Resumes are being populated into the resume portal. Information is still limited, but we are aware that available talent will fall within the following Career Categories:
Environment, Health and Safety
Research & Development
Additional job title information will be provided soon. Companies interested in more information about the portal may contact Ms. Tracy Gallagher with Midland Tomorrow at: firstname.lastname@example.org or the MEDC at email@example.com.
Also a networking event will be held in Midland on October 25th for employees transitioning out of the Dow organization.
