Ann Arbor-based NSF International, global food safety auditing, training and consulting company, said it is in the process of acquiring Belgium-based competitor Euro Consultants Group.
The companies did not release terms of the deal but said it is expected to close this spring.
The deal is NSF's second acquisition announced this year and third since September.
Founded in 1990, Euro Consultants provides food safety, training, auditing and consulting services through 14 subsidiaries in Belgium, France, Tunisia, Bulgaria, Romania, the Ivory Coast, Morocco, Poland and Canada.
The acquisition of Euro Consultants will enable NSF to expand consulting, auditing and training services to its multinational retail, food service and restaurant clients with operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Tom Chestnut, senior vice president of NSF International’s Global Food Division, said in a release.
The deal will also provide Euro Consultants' customers with access to NSF’s expanded testing, training and educational services, and supply chain food safety and quality management software, Jean-Jacques Adam, founder and president of ECG, said in the release.
