Senior Client Partner, Korn Ferry
- Dr. Jasmine Ferrer is a Senior Client Partner in Korn Ferry's Biotechnology & Pharmaceutical Sectors within the Global Life Sciences Market, based in the Firm’s Philadelphia office.
With almost 16 years of executive search and life sciences industry experience, Dr. Ferrer's primary focus is to assist venture-backed and emerging high growth biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies in recruiting Chief Executive Officers, Heads of Research and Development, Chief Medical Officers, Chief Financial Officers, and Chief Business Officers.
In addition to her advanced scientific training, Dr. Ferrer has broad industry expertise with seven years of biotechnology and pharmaceutical company experience at both Amgen and Pfizer.
Prior to joining Korn Ferry, Dr. Ferrer served as director, worldwide business development for Pfizer, based in New York City, where she co-led product licensing and business development for the oncology therapeutic area. Previously, she was director, business development for Amgen, where she covered multiple therapeutic areas.
She received a doctorate of philosophy from the department of pharmacology, with a focus on neuroscience from Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons, and a master’s of public health from Columbia's School of Public Health. She also received a bachelor’s degree in French literature from Georgetown University.
Managing Director, BERINGEA
- Michael is responsible for investment sourcing, deal execution and portfolio management, with a focus on healthcare, technology enabled services, and sustainability. Michael serves as a board director for Beringea portfolio companies MI Bioresearch, D3O, Delphinus Medical Technologies, InTouch Health, Intervention Insights, Xanitos, Freeosk, Rethink and Fiber By-Products. Previous portfolio companies include Pioneer Surgical Technologies (acquired by RTI Biologics), Relume Technologies (acquired by Revolution Lighting), and EcoSynthetix (offered publicly at TSX: ECO).
Prior to joining Beringea, Michael was a vice president of investment banking with P&M Corporate Finance (PMCF). While at PMCF, Michael led M&A transactions and capital raises for companies in the life sciences, health care and outsourced business services sectors. Before working at PMCF, Michael worked in the investment banking group at Stout Risius Ross, Inc.
Michael is a CFA charterholder and earned a B.A. in Finance from Michigan State University.
Talent and Engagement Manager, University of Michigan Tech Transfer
- Barbara brings over 25 years’ experience working as an executive coach and organizational development consultant, primarily in areas related to leadership, innovation, entrepreneurship and career transition and she has partnered with start-ups, small businesses and global organizations such as Toyota, Stryker and ProQuest.
Prior to working in Tech Transfer, Barbara worked at UM Stephen Ross School of business providing career consulting with MBA students interested in Entrepreneurship, Venture Capital, Technology and Careers with impact. In her current role at Tech Transfer, Barbara works with alumni, and other partners in the ecosystem to provide talent and other resources for new venture spinouts from UM. More recently, she partnered with Ann Arbor SPARK and MEDC to lead and facilitate a career transition program known as Michigan Shifting Gears.
Barbara earned a B.S. in Chemistry from Centre College and a M.S. Human Resource Management and Organizational Development from Eastern Michigan University.
