MichBio Expo 2007 Student Programs

MichBio Life Science Student Career Day -
October 16, 8 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Sponsored by MichBio and hosted by Michigan State University, this free event introduced more than 250 high school students and their teachers from around the state to educational and career opportunities in the life sciences. It featured break-out sessions led by MSU faculty and life sciences company representatives in the areas of Medical Devices/Bioengineering, Investigative Laboratory Sciences, Biosystems/GIS & GPS, Global Warming & Environmental Sustainability, and Animal Health. The sessions were followed by lunch at the MSU Union and tours of MSU campus research facilities, including the Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory, Center for Advanced Microscopy, Structural Fire Testing Laboratory, Radiology, and Research Technology Support Facility.

College Panel -
October 17, 12-2:30 p.m.

An afternoon session for college student a with a panel of advisors, representing Michigan State University, Asterand, Stryker, Perrigo, Xoran Technologies and University of Michigan covered the range of possibilities for post-graduate life.
